Logging off: WattsFamily.com
My father loves politics. Maybe it’s his age, or the way he was raised but he watches the news everyday and always has his own thoughts and opinions about what’s going on in the world. He always shares his thoughts on the state of the world with me, during my morning commute, and I have learned to consider him one of my top news sources.
He always sends me emails about what’s going on in the world, when we’re not talking, and constantly mentions that he wishes more people were informed of what was going on in the White House. Why don’t you create a blog,I always ask him. If you want to educate people on the news and what you think is going on in the world, a blog or website is the perfect way too do it. Well I don’t know, he always responds back.
I’ve been playing around with the idea of creating a news blog, political blog, in the back of my head for awhile. So this weekend I came up with the idea of creating and getting a family oriented website and blog. A sounding board for my entire family. Not just for his political rantings, but as a sound board for the entire family: the semi-retired father, the brother whose an engineering major in UNC Charlotte, to my sister whose working two jobs in Charleston, SC, and the older sister raising a family. A sounding board for the entire family. I’ve heard the argument, well we have Facebook, why do we need this? To me a website/blog is a much better sounding board than a Facebook page and if you really want to be heard, don’t you want everyone to see/hear you, not just your facebook friends?
So WattsFamily.com safe to say, is an idea that’s floating around my head this weekend, as I think it would be a good experiment not just for me, but my family as well. Do you know of any true family blogs? That offers multiple perspectives on a multiple number of subjects, if so I would love to check them out.
